Auditions for Clan na Gael’s Fall Production 09/12 & 09/13

‘TIS WORTH REMEMBERING”

Auditions: Sept 12th & 13th | 1 – 3:30pm at the GAC

Roles for over fifteen actors both male and female from ages 10 to 80 are available. Accommodations will be made for afternoon and weekend rehearsals for the children in the cast.

Production dates are November 16th to the 22nd including tech rehearsals. ‘Tis Worth Remembering is a Christmas Eve memory play. The action takes place on a split stage. In 1962 Ireland we are invited into the memories of the young versions of our central characters; of eager, excited children beginning a new adventure and their parents who are making the hard thought-out decision to leave Ireland for a new life.

In 2012 in rural Connecticut, four generations of Grandda’s family are gathered to celebrate Christmas together. As gifts are wrapped and songs are sung, memories of Christmas past become fresh in the minds of the brother and sister who emigrated with their parents long ago.

The play is full of real life moments, in both places, enhanced with Christmas songs and exuberance!

THE FACE ON THE BARROOM FLOOR, by Tim Kelly

A Melodrama full of laughs and engaging characters including a charming young singer, a dastardly villain, a lovestruck painter – among many other zany characters racing in one door and out another all inviting you to laugh out loud and boo the villain if you chose.

Production dates are Nov. 20, 21, 22 at 8:00pm

and Sunday 23rd at 2:30pm

Ticket are $20.00.

Plomin Cildren’s Educational Fund.

As many know, Matthew Plomin past away suddenly leaving behind his wife Jillian and their seven children. The Plomin family, have been an active part Clan na Gael by appearing on stage or behind the scenes, building and/or hauling and storing our sets. Painting, designing or just doing the grunt work, they showed up and became a part of the show. The Plomin family enriched us with their consistent involvement and for all of this we honor Matt, and his family by donating all profits from the run of our production of “The Face On The Barroom Floor ” to The Plomin Children’s’ Education Fund.

Needed are a variety of Men and Women age ranges 20’s to 70’s and one girl age range between 8-14

We are an open welcoming group who are still growing in this our 38th year of presenting plays by or about the Irish. We also need staff of all kinds. Come play with us!

The Seafarer is a chilling play about the sea, Ireland, and the power of myth. It’s Christmas Eve, and Sharky has returned to Dublin to look after his irascible, aging brother who’s recently gone blind. Old drinking buddies, Ivan and Nicky are holed up at the house too, hoping to play some cards. But with the arrival of a stranger from the distant past, the stakes are raised even higher. Sharky may be playing for his very soul.

The cast includes: Patrick Baldwin, Steven Bennett, Jim Foley, Eamon Speer and Byrne White.
